Credit Card Service Charges

Note: Processing fees are subject to card network requirements, and some states prohibit them entirely. Always review applicable laws and card network rules before charging a processing fee.

While the feature to automate such an additional charge does not currently exist within Zencare Practice Management, you can  attach an additional charge, such as the service charge that you mentioned, by using the non-session charges feature.

The first step to creating the non-session charge will be to create this in services and fee’s. You will need to create a Non-Session Charge that can be applied to a clients invoice. You are able to create these similar to a Session Charge, meaning you can customize it anyway you would like.

You can learn more about Non-Session Charges here.

Note: To attach an additional fee to a session charge, you will first need to disable automatic invoicing for a client that would be paying by a method affected by the service charge.

To begin, first navigate to Finances in the Client Account, then go to the Non-Session Charges tab and select plus (+) in the upper-right corner of this window.

Next, create the service under a name such as service charge or processing fee.  Learn more about creating services under Settings here.  Set the charge amount that you require and ensure that you set the charge Auto Invoice setting to No, then select Save to create the charge.

You will now see the service charge appear on invoices created after the service was created.

Note: The non-session charge is also subject the Stripe transaction fees
